When Mercury transits Aquarius, then, we think quickly and with some considerable originality – if we’re being kind. Some would say eccentricity or even intellectual perversity.

Because Mercury brings rational, logical energy and Aquarius, in astrology, is quite aloof by nature, there’s not a lot of emotional temperature in this transit. Aquarius is fixed energy in astrology, so when this is applied to the intellectual sphere, we can become very dogmatic and inflexible in our views. It helps to remember that one’s own opinion is not the only valid one. 

Communication when Mercury transits Aquarius is generally clear but clipped. Brief posts, texts and tweets are efficient, but devoid of emotion – which makes it hard for others to judge the tone of any communication. This can lead to misunderstandings, not about the facts in question, but about the sender’s intentions. Face to face communication fares better, but do be careful with social media.
