Monthly Overview: December 2020

December is dominated by the effects of the Great Conjunction between Jupiter and Saturn – this once in 20 years event has repercussions for all zodiac signs. We begin the month with Mercury entering bold and breezy Sagittarius. Our curious, inquisitive minds are easily distracted and confused in the first half of December, however, with Neptune afflicting both Venus and Mercury, sprinkling illusory magic and fogging up our thoughts.

For this reason, among others, the Solar Eclipse in Sagittarius on December 14th is a cosmic warning to slow down and to remember that actions have consequences – both intended and unintended. We start to see the truth of this when Saturn moves back into Aquarius on December 17th, swiftly followed by the arrival of Jupiter into this rebellious sign on December 19th. Mercury’s arrival in business-like Capricorn on December 20th tries to keep the show on the road, but really there’s only one show in town, and that’s the Jupiter-Saturn conjunction on December 21st, the day of the December solstice.

This Great Conjunction, as it’s known, will have far reaching effects for society’s structure, and our collective attitude towards justice, the environment and equality. On a personal level, each of us is given an opportunity to completely re-structure our way of being over the coming few years, and it’s never too early to take in that vibe.

We head into the holiday week with an ill-tempered Mars-Pluto square, but a sensitive and sentimental Cancer Full Moon on December 29th helps us to bid goodbye to what has been the most tumultuous of years as older and certainly wiser human beings.

MONTHLY OVERVIEW: January 2021

Welcome to 2021! January looks likely to have some tricky moments, as an assortment of planets jostle for position ahead of February’s Saturn-Uranus square. We’re also still feeling the aftermath of the Jupiter-Saturn conjunction from late December, so there’s a lot of restructuring and deep thinking going on for most of us. At the start of the second week of January, Mercury squares Mars in the first signs of what is to come, effectively pitting head and the intellect against the heart and deeper impulses. A week later, Mars squares Saturn, where willpower and drive meet an immovable obstacle, leading to a great deal of tension.

Nonetheless, early January has its lighter and more joyful moments. The Venus-Mars trine on January 9th is earthy, sensual and passionate – a call to lovers everywhere. Mercury’s conjunction with Jupiter on January 11th is also optimistic and generous, and it speaks of possibilities if we’re willing to think beyond the norm. The New Moon on January 13th is in serious, sensible, practical Capricorn, signaling a desire to stabilize emotions and to calm fears. It’s accompanied by a lovely Venus-Uranus trine, often a symbol of romantic surprises.

Later in January, however, the tension becomes much more evident. On January 17th, Jupiter squares Uranus, forecasting over-optimism or opportunities that have a sting in the tail. This is swiftly followed by a volatile Mars-Uranus conjunction, square Jupiter – impulsive action at this time could cause chaos. As January draws to a close, the Leo Full Moon may also offer drama, especially twinned as it is with a compulsive Venus-Pluto conjunction. Mercury turns retrograde on January 30th, making it tricky to fully explore these tumultuous emotions.

MONTHLY OVERVIEW: February 2021

February 2021 gets underway with good news for the individualists amongst us. With Venus moving into Aquarius on February 1st, individual, unique or even eccentric expressions of love get the go-ahead.

Later in the first week of the month, Venus conjuncts Saturn and squares Uranus, foreshadowing the struggle between stability versus change which is to come later in the month. In love, in this early stage of February, it’s a question of whether or not to push the boundaries.

The second week of February is good for innovation and excellent for business. The Aquarius New Moon highlights new technologies, and favors those who are in the cutting edge of their fields. A Mars-Neptune sextile helps to boost imagination too, while the conjunction between Mercury and Jupiter gives rise to brilliant ideas.

Mid-February is dominated by the first of the year’s three exact Saturn-Uranus squares. This is a tense moment when the choice between what we’ve always done as opposed to what we could conceivably do becomes stark. Hopefully, the Sun’s shift into Pisces the very next day will favor compassionate, heart-centered solutions, aided by Mercury turning direct on the 21st, easing communication.

The final week of February 2021 sees an earthy grand trine, beginning with a highly constructive Mars-Pluto trine, and completed by the no-nonsense Virgo Full Moon. It’s an excellent vibe for getting down to business, although with Venus moving into romantic Pisces, there will be time for love too.

Aries (March 20 - April 19)

For you, Aries, December brings growth through new ideas, but you must remain open-minded enough to accept them. Emboldened by the early arrival of free-thinking Mercury into your education zone, your thinking is innovative and far-reaching – but inner anxieties may cloud your judgement on December 5th and 13th, when Neptune adversely effects Venus and Mercury respectively. The Solar Eclipse on December 14th occurs in your learning zone, bringing a warning about being too dogmatic or zealous in your ideals.

The energy swiftly becomes more positive, however, with Venus’ arrival in this zone the following day. On December 16th and 19th, first Saturn and then Jupiter move into your community zone, and it’s here, on December 21st, that they form the once-in-twenty years Grand Conjunction. The idealism that the Solar Eclipse held in check can now be released and realized, channeled positively into new experiences, with new people, in new places – you can start now to bring about change across communities.

As the festivities approach, watch out for some ill temper with regard to your career, particularly on December 23rd when Mars squares up to Pluto and you feel that your authority is threatened. Keep a lid on your anger, because the situation will quickly pass. As we near the end of 2020, a Full Moon in your family zone brings a lump to your throat. It’s been a year of great highs and enormous lows, but you have the tools now to move into 2021 with a higher purpose and an agenda for change.

Taurus (April 20 - May 20)

Do you want life to happen to you, Taurus, or do you want to be strong enough to drive the change yourself? December will help you find out. You’re on a drive for self-improvement as Mercury arrives in your psychology zone on December 1st. However, unhelpful aspects from Neptune on December 5th and 13th suggest that you’re easily distracted or led astray by friends and by a love partner too. The Solar Eclipse on December 14th has a laser focus on your self-improvement efforts, but events on this date caution you against pushing yourself too far, too fast – and you may feel disappointed or as if you have failed.

You haven’t. You just needed a little more time. Nurturing Venus steps into this area of your chart on December 15th and helps to get you back on track. On December 16th and 19th, first Saturn and then Jupiter arrive in your ambitions zone, where on December 21st they combine to form the once-in-twenty-years Grand Conjunction. This is extraordinary energy, which gives you the power to go further towards your ambitions than you could ever have dreamed. Over the next several years, you must never doubt yourself again. You’ve got this.

Coming up to the holidays, watch out for some old prejudices or hang-ups to resurface, especially around December 23rd when Mars squares up to Pluto. You’re bubbling over with plans and ideas, however, and the Full Moon on December 29th helps you to welcome 2021 from a strong, intelligent and ambitious place.

Gemini (May 21 - June 20)

Love is not love which alters when it alteration finds, Shakespeare told us. This December, you’re learning that flexibility is crucial in your relationship. You start the month in an affectionate and loving mood, with Mercury arriving in your love zone. However, work quickly gets in the way, and by promising the impossible, you’re adding to the tension. This is especially so on December 5th and 13th, when Neptune afflicts Venus and then Mercury. By the time the Solar Eclipse occurs in your love zone on December 14th, your relationship may well feel under intense pressure.

If you can stay calm, help is at hand. Venus arrives in your love zone to soothe tempers on December 15th, and on the 16th Saturn heads back into your wisdom zone, adding stability and clarity of mind. On December 19th, Jupiter joins Saturn and it’s here that they form the once-in-twenty-years Grand Conjunction on December 21st. Expect a sudden flash of understanding regarding flexibility in love and your need to adapt to life circumstances alongside your partner, instead of on opposing sides. Over the next several years, your ability to be adaptable – one of your sign’s greatest strengths – will enhance the strength of your relationship no end.

As the holidays draw closer, there may be some anger, jealousy or resentment towards or from a close friend, but don’t read too much into this. It will pass. As 2020 draws towards a close, a deeply moving and sentimental Full Moon on December 29th reminds you exactly how strong you have been and shows that you have nothing to fear.

Cancer (June 21 - July 21)

December brings you a fresh impetus for hard work; you will take pride in striving for achievement instead of expecting things to be handed to you on plate. You’re certainly in an industrious mood as December begins, with Mercury arriving in your work zone. However, during the first two weeks of the month, Neptune brings confusion, distraction and a liking for the easy life, especially when afflicting Venus and Mercury on December 5th and 13th respectively. So much so, in fact, that the Solar Eclipse on December 14th may bring a work-related shock which jolts you out of your comfort zone.

This is not likely to be much fun. However, you are learning that nobody owes you anything, and your sense of entitlement is receding. On December 16th and 19th, Saturn and Jupiter arrive in your debt zone – we’re not talking financial debt here, so much, but more what you owe to others emotionally, personally, professionally, or practically. When Saturn and Jupiter form the once-in-twenty-years Grand Conjunction in this zone on December 21st, you are gifted insight into the nature of achievement. Take every opportunity over the next several years to repay the help and kindness you have received. Help someone else up the ladder.

Some tensions at home can be expected in the run up to the holidays, especially if your work gets in the way of your family life on December 23rd, when Mars squares Pluto. However, a stunning Full Moon in your own sign on December 29th marks you stepping firmly into your own identity, to face 2021 with full confidence.

Leo (July 22 - August 22)

December is a turning point in your love life, whether you’re currently single or not – your love and your joie-de-vivre truly matter in the world now. Mercury’s arrival in your fun and dating zone on December 1st puts you in a very good mood for sure and makes it easier for you to communicate in an existing relationship or to find a new one. However, jealousy and some other dark emotions cloud matters somewhat on December 5th and 13th, courtesy of some tricky Neptune interventions. The Solar Eclipse on December 14th falls in this joy zone – but highlights a situation where you have taken things too far, with potentially drastic repercussions.

Venus’ arrival in this zone the day after the Solar Eclipse does much to help you repair the damage, and if you are sincere in your regret, emotions will quickly mend. On December 16th, Saturn moves back into your love zone, adding stability and tolerance, and on December 19th, feel-good Jupiter arrives there too. It’s here, in your love zone, that Jupiter and Saturn form the once-in-twenty-years Grand Conjunction on December 21st – with enormously positive implications for your existing love life and for your future ability to shower the world with love. Over the coming years, show your natural leadership through compassion, kindness and generosity of heart. You are needed.

It may be difficult to focus at work as the holidays approach, and a difficult Mars-Pluto square on December 23rd raises tempers. However, a beautifully sensitive Full Moon in your spiritual zone on December 29th helps you to embrace the new year with compassion, grace and humility.

Family life is the center of your world this December, but your responsibilities here may put you under increasing strain. You don’t have to do this all alone. When Mercury arrives in your family zone on December 1st, you’ll love to shower affection on your loved ones. However, practical difficulties like money worries or a lack of family time create angst and disappointment on December 5th and 13th, when Neptune contacts to Venus and Mercury are very unhelpful. By the time the Solar Eclipse occurs in your family zone on December 14th, you may feel overwhelmed; you’re trying to do the right thing, but it just never seems like enough.

Have courage, Virgo. Immediately following the Solar Eclipse, Venus arrives in your family zone, easing tensions and promoting mutual understanding. On December 16th, Saturn moves into your work zone, adding stability and tenacity. Libra (September 23 - October 22)

It’s an exceptionally busy December, but cosmic events remind you that life is for living, not simply for enduring. With Mercury entering your activity zone on December 1st, you can expect to be rushing here, there and everywhere both at work and in your personal life. However, nobody can take on so much without the strain showing somewhere – in your case, particularly on December 5th and 13th, Neptune’s influence on your mental health leaves you drained, exhausted and stressed out. So much so, in fact, that the Solar Eclipse on December 14th may well bring a dramatic event which forces you to slow down, for your own good.

The next day, when Venus moves into your activity zone, you’ll start to realize that you’re doing so much “stuff” that you’re not leaving time to enjoy yourself, have some fun or simply be. Saturn’s arrival in your joy zone on December 16th prompts you to take fun more seriously, so to speak, and when joyful Jupiter arrives there too on December 19th, the die is cast: you must find ways to enjoy life more. When Saturn and Jupiter for the once-in-twenty-years Grand Conjunction on December 21st, something shifts in your life – and for the next several years, you’ll take conscious steps to be happy, rather than to simply exist. About time!

The normal festive family tensions may build up towards the holidays, particularly on December 23rd when Mars squares up to Pluto. However, a hugely optimistic Full Moon in your ambitions zone on December 29th helps you to welcome 2021 feeling inspired, energized and ready to live.

Financial issues do not run smoothly this December – but you are surrounded by love and family blessings, which are worth so much more than money. Intelligent Mercury breezes into your money zone on December 1st. However, a combination of over-spending and sheer bad luck puts you under considerable financial strain during the first two weeks of the month, especially when Neptune clouds your judgement on December 5th and 13th.

The situation worsens, and the Solar Eclipse on December 14th may well involve some serious financial shocks. As unsettling as that sounds, it’s not actually bad news. You’re learning that there is so much more to life than money, and that you don’t need as much as you think you need. Venus arrives in your money zone on December 15th, highlighting all the blessings you have which are more important than your bank balance. This is your opportunity to truly feel how loved and cherished you are by your loved ones, and to use that strength to know that you can face anything in the years ahead.

Getting comfy in your own skin is a major theme this December – and your friends will back you all the way. With Mercury moving into your own sign on December 1st, you start the month feeling strong and confident. However, a bruising two weeks leaves you feeling unsupported by some family members and doubting your own abilities and self-worth. The unhelpful influence of Neptune makes this particularly tough on December 5th and 13th. The Solar Eclipse in Sagittarius on December 14th could be a painful experience, perhaps shining an uncomfortable light on your identity or exposing the ways in which you don’t ‘fit in’.

Don’t worry. The following day, Venus moves into Sagittarius, and your self-beliefs starts to return. On December 16th, Saturn moves into your allies zone, swiftly followed by Jupiter on December 19th. It’s here that these two heavyweight planets come together to form a Grand Conjunction on December 21st – something seen only once every twenty years. This energy uplifts and celebrates you for who you truly are, and shows you the power of friendship too, as people rally around you to love you and to support you. Over the years to come, you can repay this kindness by yourself reaching out to someone who feels lost and isolated.

Some financial constraints may cause frustration in the run up to the holidays, particularly on December 23rd when Mars squares up to Pluto. However, a deeply emotional Full Moon on December 27th in your identity zone proves to you that you are so valued, and so loved – and you’ll never look back.

Events during the first two weeks of the month may quickly spiral out of your control, and with Neptune creating brain fog and confusion, it may be hard to know what to do for the best, especially on December 5th and 13th. However, the Solar Eclipse on December 14th in your sacrifices zone bring clarity of mind and of purpose – at this point, you will know that you need to make some difficult changes.

The following day, Venus moves into this area of your chart, bringing you some peace of mind. Shortly thereafter, both Saturn and Jupiter move into your resources zone, often called your money zone, where on December 21st they form a rare, once-in-twenty-years conjunction which marks a significant shift in your life path. December’s rare Grand Conjunction could be the vocational call you have been waiting for – if you’re brave enough to heed its voice. The month begins on an ambitious note, with Mercury arriving in your career zone on December 1st. However, during the first two weeks of the month, you’ll start to get repeated feelings that you’re not on the right path – particularly when Neptune, your ruler, stirs up your idealism on December 5th and 13th. Events around the Solar Eclipse on December 14th may underline this in dramatic fashion – and just like that, you’ll know you need to change direction.

But change direction to where? Venus arrives in your career zone on December 15th and immediately awakens your nurturing, caring instincts. Meanwhile, both Saturn and Jupiter shift into the most spiritual and compassionate zone of your chart, on December 16th and 19th respectively. Here, on December 21st, that Grand Conjunction lights up your instincts in a blaze of intuition and spiritual feeling. Your excitement over this may frustrate some others, and you can expect tempers to flare around December 23rd when a Mars-Pluto square creates tension. You begin 2021 with a sense of being somewhat under siege - your opinions may be unpopular and your values may seem out of step with your wider community, particularly when Mercury squares Mars on January 8th before going on to conjunct both Saturn and Jupiter in your community zone. When Mars squares up to Saturn on January 13th, you may find your frustration spilling over – this is a prime time for scorching rows between friends, colleagues and family over the issues of the day.

At work, however, there are brighter signs. The promising Venus-Mars trine on January 9th suggests that financial rewards may be on the way. This is backed up by a New Moon in your career zone on January 13th, and the promises of work or money related surprises on the same day, as Venus trines Uranus from your career zone.

Your discomfort with what’s going on around you returns on January 17th, when Jupiter squares Uranus, and you may struggle with views and opinions which oppose your own. When Mars, your ruling planet, conjuncts Uranus on January 20th in your values zone, your impulsive actions could cost you in terms of your reputation or friendships. This is a pattern repeated on January 26th when the Sun squares Uranus, putting your ego against prevailing opinions. Look to the Full Moon on January 28th for a decisive event – but when Mercury turns retrograde at the end of the month, you’ll need to be careful about causing too much offense to others.

You begin 2021 with Mars in your own sign, driving our ambitions forward. In the second week of January, when Mercury conjuncts both Saturn and Jupiter in your career zone, you may however find yourself pulled in opposite directions. Around the same time, Venus, your ruling planet, trines Mars from your adventure zone – suddenly the prospect of sticking with your current career forever more may no longer seem so appealing. The New Moon on January 13th is also in your adventure zone, adding to your itchy feet. Venus trines Uranus here too, hinting at a possible love connection in the mix.

On January 17th, Jupiter squares Uranus, pitting your professional or work-based identity against your true identity, or your inner dreams. If your job no longer reflects who you really are, this could be a difficult period – particularly when Mars conjuncts Uranus in your own sign on January 20th – square Jupiter, the planet of opportunity in your career zone. This suggests that you may have to take drastic career action if you want to embody your authentic self.

Look to the Full Moon on January 28th for some much-needed emotional support from your family and loved ones, as you grapple with these kinds of decisions. On the same day, Venus conjuncts Pluto in your adventure zone, so if your sweetheart would prefer you to have a different job, you may find that hard to resist. With Mercury turning retrograde in your career zone at the end of January, however, it’s best not to rush into any such choice.

More than almost any other zodiac sign, you love to learn, and January brings you plenty of opportunities for that. Mercury, your ruling planet, arrives in your philosophy zone, while Mars transits your spirituality zone, encouraging you to think deep thoughts. At times, however, your knowledge quest is going to be uncomfortable, especially when it challenges the beliefs or faith that you already have. Key moments in this are likely to be January 8th, when Mercury squares Mars, January 13th, when Mars squares Saturn, and January 17th when the major Jupiter-Uranus square pits what you already know – or think you know – against the new discoveries you are making.

The New Moon on January 13th occurs in your personal growth zone; the following day the Sun conjuncts Pluto there too – mid-January is definitely a time for analyzing where you’re going and whether you like the path you’re on. When Mars conjuncts Uranus in your spirituality zone on January 20th, you may find yourself angrily denouncing the beliefs and opinions of others. Mars is in square aspect to Jupiter around this time, suggesting that your normal open-minded attitude is temporarily closing down.

Some of these astrological aspects are likely to cause psychological turmoil, even if they seem somewhat abstract. Look to the Full Moon on January 28th for a chance to talk everything over with a trusted ally. When Mercury turns retrograde in your philosophy zone at the end of the month, you’ll find it more difficult to express where you’re going, so grab an ally where you can.

Cancer (June 21 - July 21)

As January 2021 gets underway, it’s important to be careful about keeping your private life private. You start the year with Mars in your social and community zone, making it difficult to keep anything quiet, but unfortunately, someone, or a whole group of someones, may disapprove of your love life in the strongest possible terms. An early indicator of this is the Mercury-Mars square on January 8th, as well as the Mars-Saturn square on January 13th.

Although the New Moon on January 13th is in your love zone, you can’t seem to quite shake off this hint of scandal. When Jupiter squares up to Uranus on January 17th, your intimate desires may be made public in a rather shocking way, or you may discover that some who you thought you could trust are rather disloyal. Your private life is your own business, of course – and on January 20th, when Mars conjuncts Uranus in your social zone, you may feel a desire to take drastic action, perhaps cutting yourself off from those who no longer gel with you.

This all sounds rather dramatic, but essentially it’s an issue of whether you want to live true to your own values, or whether you want to conform. The Full Moon in your values zone on January 28th suggests vindication for your own choices. The very same day, the Sun conjuncts Jupiter in your intimacy zone, so you may start to feel freer for a time – but when Mercury turns retrograde in this zone at the end of the month, privacy will certainly matter.

Leo (July 22 - August 22)

You start 2021 on a good footing, workwise. Mars is in your career zone, and Venus begins to smooth over any difficult relationships with colleagues. Indeed, the Venus-Mars trine on January 9th points towards a very productive first couple of weeks at work, as does the New Moon in your everyday work zone on January 13th.

However, it’s on that same date that you’ll start to feel the tension in your work-life balance. Mars squares up to Saturn, putting your ambition directly at odds with the stability and harmony of your relationship. A few days later, the powerful Jupiter-Uranus square repeats this pattern. Essentially this is a major hint that continued growth and happiness in your relationship is going to have to be paid for with some major changes to your career. You may try to address this head-on at first, especially when Mars conjuncts game-changer Uranus in your career zone on January 20th. This combo is in square aspect to Jupiter and the opportunities that planet brings, however, and this is simply not the right time.

This is a dilemma with no easy answers, but the Leo Full Moon on January 28th may bring a lot of dormant emotions or old resentments to the surface. On the same day, the Sun conjuncts warm-hearted Jupiter in your love zone, so the old magic is still there – but Mercury’s retrograde tour in your love zone, starting at the end of January, is a signal of how much work you have to do on this issue.

Virgo (August 23 - September 22)

2021 begins with an upswing in your self-confidence, and a desire to step beyond your comfort zones. With Mars in your adventure zone and Venus in your fun zone, you’re likely to feel a lot bolder than normal, and more inclined both to travel and to be spontaneous. Some delightful astrological aspects, like the Venus-Mars trine on January 9th, fully support your walk on the wild side. The New Moon on January 13th falls in your joy zone too, so the cosmos looks like it’s on your side here.

However, responsibility also looms large in January 2021. Your desire for more fun is in conflict with your dutiful nature, and this tension – personified neatly by the Mars-Saturn square which also occurs on January 13th – will be a key theme during your year. When Jupiter squares up to Uranus on January 17th, you may feel like just running away or abandoning everything on a whim; even more so when Mars conjuncts Uranus on January 20th. But you won’t, of course. With the support of your partner – especially when Venus sextiles compassionate Neptune on January 23rd – you’ll find a way to live up to your responsibilities regardless.

However, the Full Moon on January 28th is a reminder of what you feel you’re sacrificing. Combined with a Venus-Pluto conjunction in your risk zone on the same day, your desire to do something drastic still lingers. When Mercury turns retrograde in your responsibility zone at the end of January, do some deep thinking about how you can share the load with others around you.

We can see an early example of this on January 8th when Mercury squares Mars; more so when Mars squares Saturn on January 13th and your desire for personal change meets some scary feeling obstacles. By mid-month, when Jupiter squares Uranus, you may start to feel as though you’re not really strong enough to make the lifestyle changes you’d so love to make.

Hang on in there. Very supportive aspects from your family zone point towards understanding and compassion from your loved ones, particularly around January 9th when Venus trines Mars, and again on January 13th during the New Moon. Despite the inner tension you feel – there’s more of it to come around January 20th, when Mars conjuncts Uranus in your growth zone, square Jupiter in your risk zone – there’s a background of support and encouragement in your chart.

For example, look to the Venus-Neptune sextile in late January, when your family helps to clear away confusion – or the Full Moon on January 28th when friends make it very clear how much they love and value you. On this same date, the Sun conjuncts Jupiter in your creativity zone, bringing inspiration and optimism. There’s a long journey ahead yet, but Mercury turning retrograde in your creativity zone at the end of January is a chance to sense instinctively where you want to go.

Scorpio (October 23 - November 21)

Love is front and center in your mind as 2021 begins, with passionate Mars arriving in your love zone. Be prepared for some interference in your love life however, largely courtesy of in-laws, extended family members or family issues from the past. This may feel particularly acute in the second week of January, when Mercury conjuncts both Saturn and Jupiter in your family zone, hinting at a lack of freedom and a lack of approval from some quarters. When Mars squares Saturn on January 13th, tension and tempers may well flare on this issue.

On the same day, however, Venus trines Uranus, suggesting unexpected support from your partner, and with a New Moon in your communication zone that day too, your relationship will become stronger than ever if you keep talking and remind one another that you’re on the same side. This is important because family interference isn’t likely to go away any time soon. Indeed, on January 17th, when Jupiter squares Uranus, there could be severe drama on that front. By the 20th, when Mars conjuncts unpredictable Uranus in your love zone, you may be all out of patience – and so might your partner.

A dramatic Full Moon in your public zone on January 28th suggests that private discord may become a lot more visible – but on the same day, a compelling Venus-Pluto conjunction underlines the strength of your partnership. Mercury will turn retrograde in your family zone at the end of January; this might be a useful time to look back at what has triggered all this angst.

Sagittarius (November 22 - December 20)

January 2021 is an exceptionally busy month for you, with Mars in your everyday work zone driving your forwards. This is likely to bring you financial rewards, particularly around January 9th when Venus trines Mars, and during the New Moon in your money zone on January 13th. However, all this hard work and success comes at a potential cost to your physical or mental health and it’s important that you don’t burn out.

On the same day as the New Moon, a tense square between Mars and Saturn highlights how stress and responsibility are getting to you, and your health may take another battering during the important Jupiter-Uranus square a few days later on January 17th. You may even experience a minor health scare around January 20th, when Mars conjuncts shock-bringer Uranus in your health zone – you’re being asked to slow down and to take better care of yourself.

Your chance to do just that comes with the Full Moon on January 28th. This occurs in your philosophy zone – an area of your chart where you feel very comfortable and at home. This will help you to take a laid-back attitude to any necessary changes, which will in its own right help to calm your mental health. Prioritize taking up healthy new habits, whether physical, emotional or mental – and be sure to commit to them fully, because once Mercury turns retrograde at the end of the month, you may feel under pressure to return to your former high speed.

Capricorn (December 21 - January 19)

You tend to measure success in materialistic, practical ways – but this month, you’re being urged to look again at what really matters in life. When Mercury squares up to Mars from your money zone on January 8th, you start to sense that there’s more to life than a healthy bank balance – and the following day, when Venus trines Mars from your own sign, you may resolve to start finding the joy in everyday life instead.

You’ll be boosted in this by a New Moon in Capricorn on January 13th, and by a lovely Venus-Uranus trine on the same day, which reveals romance, surprises and wonder all around you. However, when Jupiter squares Uranus on January 17th, being unable to afford something you dearly want may catapult you right back into a materialistic frame of mind again. This process is about learning what you truly value, as opposed to what you think you value – but it may take a financial shock, courtesy of the Mars-Uranus conjunction on January 20th, to make this clear to you.

The Full Moon on January 28th shines from your debt zone, highlighting your complex relationship with money and materialism, and your deep desire for financial security. The same day, however, Venus conjuncts Pluto in your own sign, giving you yet another signal that some things simply cannot be bought. Look to the Mercury retrograde period – in your money zone, starting on January 30th – for an opportunity to take a closer look at your relationship with finance.

Aquarius (January 20 - February 17)

Your focus in January is on your identity and your roots, and particularly on being able to express who you truly are. Mars moves into your family zone early in January, but by mid-month Mars has squared both Mercury and Saturn in Aquarius, hinting at your inability to truly live your own authentic identity. Family disapproval may bother you greatly, especially when Jupiter squares up to Uranus on January 17th, and again when Mars squares Jupiter on January 23rd. In fact, the Mars-Uranus conjunction on January 20th could signal a major row or upset over this very issue.

Spirituality may come to your rescue. On January 9th, Venus trines Mars from your spiritual zone and urges you to seek a spiritual connection with others. The New Moon on January 13th is also in this zone and hints at karmic family issues. Look into regression or soul groups to better understand what’s going on; once you understand it, you can better handle it. What you discover may suddenly make things click into place, as mirrored by the surprising Venus-Uranus trine, also on January 13th.

Meanwhile, the Full Moon in your love zone on January 28th reminds you that you are loved and supported, by your partner if you have one, or by your close friends and companions. You are not alone. On the same day, the Sun conjuncts Jupiter in Aquarius, bringing you a burst of freedom of expression, which is very welcome. Mercury will turn retrograde in Aquarius on January 30th, but this period of introspection could be useful to you on this journey.

You have a lot of knowledge you’d like to share this January, and you would excel as a teacher or a mentor – but a lack of confidence may be holding you back. The Venus-Mars trine on January 9th is a lovely indicator of how much you have to offer others, and the New Moon in your social zone on January 13th also points towards you being able to benefit your community through sharing your ideas and experiences. However, a difficult Mars-Saturn square on the same date reveals your own anxiety over whether you are worth listening to.

On January 17th, the Jupiter-Uranus square repeats the same pattern; although it’s clear from Jupiter in your spiritual zone that you have so much wisdom to offer, in order to share it, you’ll need to make a sudden breakthrough in your confidence levels. The conjunction of Mars and Uranus in your communication zone on January 20th may provide just such a breakthrough – you may witness or experience something which compels you to reach out to others, despite your nerves or reticence.

The Full Moon on January 28th occurs in your responsibilities zone, highlighting that, in fact, you have an emotional duty to others to shine a light on where you’ve been and what you’ve experienced. At the same time, the Venus-Pluto conjunction in your community zone makes you a compelling speaker. With Mercury turning retrograde in your spirituality zone on January 30th, you may still have more questions than answers, but what answers you do have should be shared far and wide.

Get set for a very sociable vibe as February begins, Aries. Venus shifts into your friendship zone, and a Venus-Saturn conjunction provides some stability and certainty within a new tribe. The Venus-Uranus square on February 6th is an exciting moment, and the New Moon on February 11th is in your friend zone too, so there is definitely plenty of activity in your social life.

However, mid-February sees you turning to more serious matters as your values are challenged by the first of this year’s three Saturn-Uranus squares. You may find yourself at odds suddenly with friends you’ve known for years, with political and humanitarian differences of opinion being especially heartfelt.

Look to the Sun’s arrival in your spiritual zone on February 18th to help you take a more tolerant view of your differences with other people.

The end of February is a useful period for your career, as an earth grand trine provides determination and willpower aplenty. This starts on February 24th when Mars trines Pluto and is completed by the industrious Virgo Full Moon in your everyday work zone on February 27th.

Meanwhile, Venus’ shift into your spiritual zone on February 25th ensures that you also end February on a romantic note. This is a good time to connect with your lover on an esoteric level as well as a physical one – discover your soul connection together.

February begins on a promising note for your career direction, with Venus moving into your career zone and a Venus-Saturn conjunction offering staying power and stability. When Venus squares Uranus on February 6th, however, there is a hint that your working life and your love life may be at odds.

Nonetheless, the New Moon in your ambitions zone on February 11th gives you fresh impetus and a sense of optimism, as does the conjunction between Mercury and Jupiter in this same zone on February 14th. Good ideas pay off, and people are willing to listen to your projects and plans.

On February 17th, the first of the year’s three Saturn-Uranus squares gives you pause for thought, however. You’ll start to see hints that a different career path could open to you – perhaps a much more satisfying one, or one more in tune with your authentic self. And yet, for now, this prospect is as scary as it is intriguing. Keep the thought on the backburner for the moment.

Towards the end of February, you can expect to feel free, inspired and ready to take on new ideas and challenges. When Mars in your own sign trines Pluto on February 24th, constructive energy makes just about anything seem possible – and the Full Moon on the 27th completes a grand trine, activating your joy zone and bringing laughter and love back as your top priorities.

You’ll feel the need to broaden your mind this February. Travel is one way of doing that, and as the month begins, Venus shifts into your travel zone – a definite hint that love and travel could be connected.

When Venus squares Uranus on February 6th, however, there’s a warning to be sure that you’re telling the truth in your love life, not running from secrets or over-exaggerating something.

The New Moon in your study zone on February 11th is great news if you’re back at school or working towards an exam or qualification. Together with the Mercury-Jupiter conjunction on February 14th, this suggests that success is yours for the taking.

Watch out on February 17th for stressful issues around the truth, manipulation, lies, deceit or philosophies. This is the first of three exact Saturn-Uranus squares this year, and it puts you in a difficult position where you may be expected to discern the truth from what is largely hidden. Mercury turns direct in this zone of your chart a few days later, however, which will help considerably.

Towards the end of February, the emphasis shifts to your identity, your past and your roots. When Mars trines Pluto on February 24th, something from the past can be usefully exorcised or put to bed for good. This is an excellent time for counseling or therapy, particularly once the Full Moon on February 27th completes this grand trine from your family zone.

Deep emotions hold sway during early February, particularly as Venus moves into the most psychologically complex area of your chart. During the first week of the month, Venus conjuncts Saturn but squares Uranus, hinting that you may be finding it hard to move on from emotional trauma in the past.

There’s good news ahead, however, as the New Moon in this area of your chart on February 11th helps you to better understand your path ahead.

On February 17th, the first of three Saturn-Uranus squares this year becomes exact, and for you, this is all about emotional debts, and the need to pay up on them before you can move ahead. Expect to feel pulled in opposing directions, and to feel quite fearful or anxious around this time. Hang on in there; if you do what feels right, you will be fine.

Mercury turns direct in your debts zone on February 20th, which eases the emotional pressure a little. Once Venus shifts into your adventure zone on February 25th, you’ll also feel an easing of the load and a more positive vibe.

There’s also an earthy grand trine at the end of February which should improve your mood. It begins on February 24th with a Mars-Pluto trine, activating your love and social zones, and it concludes with the Full Moon on February 27th, which is in your communication zone. Making an effort to spend time with the people you love the most will do wonders for your mental health and will curb your anxiety too.

Leo (July 22 - August 22)

There’s a loving and romantic vibe for you, Leo, as February 2021 gets underway. Venus moves into your love zone on the first of the month and forms a stabilizing conjunction with Saturn a few days later.

However, when Venus in your love zone squares Uranus in your career zone on February 6th, it foreshadows the same conflict which is set to play out during this year’s three Saturn-Uranus squares: whether and how your love life can thrive alongside your career.

The New Moon in your love zone on February 11th is a positive indication for sure, but on February 17th, the first of those Saturn-Uranus squares becomes exact, and you can expect furious arguments or intense power struggles in your love life.

It’s a matter of priorities – your love life or your career. You may feel this is an impossible choice, since you need career success in order to live well with your lover. However, the key is to keep talking. When Mercury turns direct in your love zone on February 20th, that will help.

The earthy grand trine at the end of February helps too. This begins with a Mars-Pluto trine on February 24th, suggesting that you can find ways, through sheer force of willpower, to adjust your working routines. The Full Moon on February 27th completes the grand trine and falls in your money zone – this is your reassurance that you can find a way around this problem that won’t adversely impact your income.

It would be understandable if you feel weighed down by duty at the start of February 2021. Venus shifts into your duty zone early on, and conjuncts heavyweight Saturn there in the first week of the month, suggesting that even your love life may start to feel like a chore.

When Venus squares Uranus on February 6th, you may feel resentful about what you’d like to be doing versus what you feel you have to be doing. The New Moon in your duty zone on February 11th provides you with willpower and a real desire to sort this out.

Your chance may come on February 17th, when the first of three exact Saturn-Uranus squares this year kicks in. You may feel trapped at this time, and perhaps extremely angry with those who are not pulling their weight to help you – but letting out these feelings will be healthy and will prompt others to step in and share the load. Better late than never!

This should make you feel better very quickly. By the time Mars trines Pluto on February 24th, you are determined to focus more on your own needs, on adventure and a sense of fun.

Venus moves into your love zone on February 25th, which certainly helps to boost your mood too.

The Virgo Full Moon on February 27th completes the grand trine with Mars and Pluto and fully energizes your desire to be free – this is an excellent moment for travel, new hobbies, dating or simply a fresh lease of life.

There are a lot of positives in the month ahead, Libra, especially in love and creativity. With Venus moving into your dating zone as February begins, early February is a great time for having fun with someone new or for spicing up an existing relationship. When Venus squares up to Uranus on February 6th, however, be aware that too much spice can be as problematic as no spice at all!

The New Moon in your joy zone on February 11th invites you to focus more on what you want and need, rather than on the needs of others. Your normal focus is on ensuring others are happy, so this could take some getting used to.

When Saturn squares Uranus on February 17th, in the first of three such squares this year, you may find people accusing you of selfishness or spite simply for having focused on yourself for a change. However, Mercury turning direct in your joy zone a few days later will help you to keep any such outbursts in perspective.

February ends with a very helpful grand trine, starting on the 24th when Mars trines Pluto and reminds you that you’re not anchored to your past – you can move on. When the Full Moon completes this trine on February 27th, you’ll get an uplifting insight into your spiritual potential.

Meanwhile, Venus shifts into your health zone on February 25th – as February draws to a close, it will be important to watch out for unhealthy indulgences of all kinds.

February begins with peace, harmony and progress in the family home, courtesy of the arrival of Venus in your family zone, swiftly forming a stabilizing conjunction with Saturn.

However, tension is not far from the surface, Scorpio, and is likely to bubble up on February 6th when Venus squares Uranus. The New Moon in your family zone on February 11th gives you a chance to calm nerves, and a lovely Mars-Neptune sextile on February 13th boosts romance, love and joy.

Mercury’s conjunction with Jupiter on February 14th also falls in your family zone and hints at innovative and unusual solutions to family tensions.

This breathing space is short-lived, however, and you may find tension rising dramatically around February 17th, when the first of this year’s three Saturn-Uranus squares becomes exact. Family interference in your relationship or love life could become intolerable.

Look to February 20th, when Mercury turns direct in your family zone, for help with communicating your feelings.

There’s more help on the way too, as February ends with an earthy grand trine. It begins on February 24th when Mars trines Pluto, reminding you that with skillful communication, you can balance these competing elements of your life. The Full Moon on February 27th completes the trine, pointing towards a party or social event which can do much to heal the damage.

Expect a busy start to February, with you possibly taking on more commitments than you can reasonably manage. With Venus in your ‘busy zone’, you’ll do your best, with good grace and a smile, but you’re leaving yourself very little free time.

When Venus squares rebel Uranus on February 6th, you may start to feel resentful about what you’re doing for others, especially work colleagues. A New Moon in your communication zone on February 11th may help you to set clearer boundaries.

The Mercury-Jupiter conjunction on February 14th is also helpful in this regard, as it helps you to find new and better ways of managing your time, and therefore your stress.

However, the situation at work may be difficult around February 17th, when the first of the year’s three Saturn-Uranus squares becomes exact. Here you may struggle with getting new ideas across at work, especially if you’re met with an immovable desire from others to maintain the status quo. This could be highly frustrating.

Towards the end of February, it seems that you may find a breakthrough, through sheer willpower and force of personality if nothing else. When Mars trines Pluto on February 24th, you’ll be able to show colleagues how your ideas can be productive.

Several days later, the Full Moon in your career zone completes a grand trine with Mars and Pluto – it’s at this point that you’ll stop at nothing to get your changes implemented; ultimately for the good of everyone.

Look to the New Moon in your money zone on February 11th to help get your spending back under control and to set new financial rules for yourself. When Mercury conjuncts Jupiter in this zone of your chart on February 14th, you may also be able to come up with fun and innovative ways to increase your income.

Expect to struggle with restlessness and risk-taking urges around February 17th, however. This is when the first of this year’s three Saturn-Uranus squares become exact, and for you, it’s all about how your values restrain you from doing what you’d really like to do.

Fortunately, there’s an earthy grand trine in play towards the end of February which may bring some solutions. When Mars trines Pluto on February 24th, you’ll feel freer to choose joy, in whatever form that manifests for you.

February is an important month, with your sign being heavily affected by the first of the three Saturn-Uranus squares.

It’s a promising start, with Venus moving into your own sign, increasing your confidence and charisma. The Venus-Uranus square on February 6th foreshadows the later Saturn-Uranus square, and around this time you may start to feel uncomfortable around your identity, or issues from your past.

However, a positive New Moon in Aquarius on February 11th is a good time for a change of image or for psychologically accepting a fresh start. The Mercury-Jupiter conjunction in your sign on February 14th is helpful too, as it gives you a glimpse of what freedom can actually look like.

It’s on the 17th of February that the Saturn-Uranus square kicks in, however, and this may signal a significant increase in psychological tension for you. You may start to question your roots or resent pressure from family members to conform in some way. You are looking for ways to break free from what has always been.

The following day, the Sun shifts into your values zone, shining a clearer light on what you actually want. With Mercury turning direct in your sign on February 20th, tension starts to ease and you may see a way forward.

Look to the grand trine between Mars, Pluto and the Full Moon at the end of the month for a deep emotional connection to your past that also frees you to look to the future. This takes place between February 24th and 27th and could well hold some of the answers you seek.

Carve out space, time and privacy for yourself as February begins. With Venus moving into your spiritual zone, you’ll want to be alone or only with those closest to you – this is not a great time for social events.

When Venus squares Uranus on February 6th, however, you may find that what life demands from you leaves you with little time to find peace. Look to the New Moon in your spiritual zone on February 11th for a chance to set some new ground rules over what you will and will not take on.

Around February 17th, you may be disturbed or worried by spiritual phenomena, events or experiences. This is the unsettling effect of the first of this year’s three Saturn-Uranus squares. It has an underlying positive message for you, as it’s to do with developing your spiritual gifts, but in this first pass, it will probably feel deeply uncomfortable. Hang on in there.

When the Sun shifts into Pisces the following day, your confidence will start to return, and when Mercury turns direct in your spiritual zone on February 20th, the fog will start to clear.

Look for the support of family and close friends later in the month, particularly when Mars trines Pluto on February 24th and encourages you to find a new ‘tribe’ who understand you better.

I live in Georgia I’ve attended yesterday’s zoom about Mars Retrograde, I opened the compass on my phone went outside around 8:45 -9:00 pm eastern time zone, walked down the driveway, it’s a beautiful driveway with and amazing view of the sky, So I walked down my driveway glancing, at my compass, got to the end of the driveway, I was already walking west, Look again at my compass, looked up and bam, there it was. Blinking I thought it was a plane at first, the sky was clear so I was able to see all the other stars very well, but Mars from where its located was by itself, there wasn’t any other stars around it, it had a bit reddish glow to it that’s how I knew it was Mars, one of the best days of my life, you want to know something cool, my son is a Scorpio Nov 14/2005 words can’t express the feeling I had knowing that I was looking at my sons ruler, I am a Taurus May 19/1986 special night for me.Cached

Hi there! I am thoroughly enjoying receiving your horoscopes and informative information on how the planets are affecting our everyday lives. To say this year has been so unpredictable is an understatement, but when you explain how the planets are ‘behaving’, it makes much more sense to me. I have known about the spirit world from being a small child and am in fact a registered healer working in my local church helping and teaching as many people as I can. I feel very much the different energies in people who are unknown to me and can sum them up, usually with uncanny accuracy. A gift from God that I cherish and will never abuse.... if I do, I know it will be taken away from me. Thank you again for your insights and please keep them coming. Sending lots of hugs 🤗🤗🤗🤗 to you and yours. 💜💞💜Cached
