Saturn, the planet of responsibility, structure, limitations, and karma, changes signs on March 7th, 2023. Ending its two plus year journey through Aquarius, this very grown-up planet will move into deeply spiritual Pisces, the last sign of the zodiac.

Saturn was last in Pisces between 1993 and 1996. This was a period when pop culture was at its height, and it was also a time of moral panic, specifically about the effects of violent video games on children. That was a very Saturn in Pisces influence - attempting to use authority to censor or dictate what influences others.

While Saturn was in Aquarius, from March 2020 onwards, the world faced unprecedented limits on freedom and individuality (ruled by Aquarius), due to the covid-19 pandemic.

As Saturn arrives in Pisces, we are still dealing with the after-effects of this, particularly the effects of lockdowns on mental health.

With addiction and mental health troubles at an all-time high, we can hope that Saturn’s transit through escapist Pisces will lead to some concrete solutions to tackle this rising crisis. At the very least, problems like these are likely to be taken more seriously.

Another thing to be taken more seriously will be our spirituality. We are likely to want a more practical use for our beliefs, so spiritual practices that we can incorporate into day-to-day life will rise in popularity. Tai chi, yoga, and meditation will become important, as science starts to understand their benefits to everyday health, wellness, and happiness.

We may also see an increase in people turning to divination methods and dream analysis to try to make practical sense of their lives and to aid in decision-making.

Pisces rules the entertainment industry, and it’s likely that during the next two years, with Saturn transiting this sign, we will see an increase in safeguards and protections as a sense of collective responsibility grows.

On a personal level, Saturn’s transit through Pisces provides a very helpful grounding for turbulent emotions. Common sense can prevail in even the most difficult of circumstances, and for anyone feeling lost or at sea, this influence will be a safe port in a storm.

This transit marks the end of a karmic cycle for you, and that can be an uncomfortable process. Expect to spend time sorting through your subconscious, processing past trauma, and learning to come to terms with your mistakes.
